Case Study: We unlocked Wauva’s e-commerce growth by putting Google Ads into growth mode!

Starting point
The client’s Google Ads account had been inactive for a long time: ads were static, and budgets remained unchanged. The Google Ads activity log revealed that campaigns had not been actively optimized or updated. We contacted the client and, during discussions, highlighted growth barriers in both Google Ads and email marketing. This sparked the client’s interest in collaboration and finally connected them with a partner focused on comprehensive e-commerce development.
Background and client
Wauva.fi is a specialist in baby products, operating both brick-and-mortar stores and an e-commerce platform, with annual revenue exceeding €2 million. The core online assortment includes strollers, high chairs, and car seats—products covering a child’s needs from 0 to 5 years. Although the baby products market is competitive, Wauva’s strong brand positions it well, and its market share has significant growth potential.
Challenges
The key challenges were lack of time, a passive Google Ads strategy, and scaling it profitably. Our market research revealed that some competitors were losing market share, creating an opportunity for Wauva to grow aggressively. The client had previously worked with Google Ads partners, but due to a passive strategy, the account’s full potential had not been realized.
Solution
We addressed the inactivity in the Google Ads account by activating a proven workflow that we have successfully used for many clients. We began by analyzing conversion tracking, product data, and existing ads. This provided a clear plan of the necessary actions and their sequence. The data-driven approach helped identify gaps in Google Ads and enabled their systematic correction.
Implementation
The project began with the optimization of Wauva’s conversion tracking and product data. After laying the groundwork, we focused on strengthening ads, updating strategies, and initiating scaling. In line with the client’s goals, we aimed for quick results, and by increasing investments, we achieved significant outcomes rapidly. At the start of the collaboration, we held workshops on conversion, advertising, and content creation, leveraging the client’s expertise while training them in Vill’s methodologies.
Results
As a result of the project, Wauva’s e-commerce store achieved significant growth: the number of new customers increased by 33%, and order volumes rose 26% compared to the previous year. Sales grew 25% through advertising and email marketing, and revenue from Google Ads nearly doubled. Wauva also moved up in paid Google Ads visibility from #10 to #3.
Learnings and benefits
The project demonstrated that a passive Google Ads strategy can cost hundreds of thousands of euros in lost sales over time. Using data, Wauva realized that its growth potential could be achieved with an active strategy. Moving forward, the client is committed to investing in data-driven development and identifying passivity in other areas of the e-commerce store.
Final summary
The key lesson from the project is that inaction is costly, while an active strategy delivers results. We continue comprehensive development in Google Ads and monitor over 60 critical KPIs monthly to ensure the e-commerce store’s growth potential. Progress is reviewed in regular meetings, and the successful collaboration continues.

Final summary

The collaboration with Suomen Lasitehdas has been an excellent example of how data-driven development supports sustainable growth. The partnership also demonstrates why analysis-based development is always more profitable than a traditional, campaign-oriented approach.
